Parklife really has it all. We are fortunate to have wonderful parks in Ireland. In Dublin we have Phoenix Park, it is one of largest walled city parks in Europe. The park enclosure extends for 707 hectares (1,750 acres). While most people go to the Zoo in Phoenix Park there are also fantastic places free of charge to visit. These include the walled garden at the visitor centre which is open throughout the year. A fantastic place to bring a family and see the large pumpkins in early October. Every Sunday morning children's workshops on nature awareness, history and heritage and arts and crafts take place, suitable for ages 6-12 years, between 11.00am - 12.00noon and is free of charge.
Other places to visit for free include Farmleigh tour, the impressive grounds and the market. Farmleigh Estate was purchased from the Guinness Family in 1999 includes an 18th century Georgain house. Farmleigh tours are operated for free and take place Monday to Sunday. Tours are given at a quarter past the hour starting at 10.15am - 4.15pm. On Sundays you may be lucky enough to find a band on the lawn. Upcoming Farmer/Craft Markets in Farmleigh are on;
